Study Abroad
Northwestern has a strong tradition of undergraduate research programs on the African continent. It involves students in study abroad programs across the African continent. These programs often combine study at African universities with lived experience of African urban and rural societies. They follow a variety of research themes such as diasporic history, Islam in Africa, or the performing and visual arts. Others aim to involve students in current issues such as social justice and national reconciliation, gender and development, HIV/AIDS and public health, ecology, and development.
